"I won't fit. It's too tight."
"The human body can do wonders. You'll fit. " Sooyoung tried to convince him.
"I'm too long!" Changmin groaned in protest but his dearly beloved just rolled her eyes.
"No. I say you're just the right size. Now, stop being a sissy and ride on like a real man." She demanded glaring at her boyfriend.
"Why do you keep ordering me around?" He whimpered, pouting with his pinkish lips.
"Oppa…" she said in her rarely heard small aegyo voice. Now, he is done. He can’t resist her like this. Sooyoung’s secret aegyo attack never fails to get him. "Will you stop complaining now or I'll do this solo? I'm freezing here." Deadpan.
"Fine. Fine." He gave in to her whim. Scratching the back of his neck, he jams his long legs into the small sleigh and squeezed himself beside her as she smiled contented. He pulled his red coat closer to his body but decided to take it off and put it around her instead. It was freezing cold.
"Oppa are you ready?" Her breath fogged up the wintry air as her coal eyes glistened like the tips of icicles by the light. She linked her arms with his and suddenly the cold Christmas air was lost to the warmth that they both felt. And it felt right.
The sleigh started to glide forward with the help of four lean huskies pulling it. Cold winter breeze poked their cheeks and children's Christmas carols serenaded them as they darted through the white winter wonderland.
"Merry Christmas!" Sooyoung shouted at the top of her lungs while trying to stand on her seat.
“Yah! Sit down. You’ll—“ but before he could continue his words, the sleigh hit a road bump. They felt their bottoms hit the wooden chair as they bounced on their seats. With a loud snap, the ropes connecting the sleigh to the huskies came undone and the furry friends ran off, leaving them sliding down the slope on their own. Sooyoung’s smile changed into a scared gasp.
Changmin grabbed on to his girlfriend by the waist as the bobsled came tumbling down the hill of snow like a piece of toy made out of plastic. With no way to stop themselves from falling, they just closed their eyes and hugged each other tight.
Luckily, they landed on a heap of snow, buried deep on the soft white crystals and in each other’s embrace. Upon realizing that they have reached their landing, Changmin checked if Sooyoung was alright. He was glad to see that there were no broken bones whatsoever as she was safely lying on top of him, his body being a good cushion to break her fall.
“You ok?” He asked her even if he was sure that his back probably received all the impact from their free fall. He helped her brush off the snowflakes that gathered on her hair as they stood up, all the while admiring her cheeks that were rosy from being bitten by the cold. She nodded with a smile, affirming that she wasn’t hurt.
“You have more snow in your hair than I do.” She tiptoed and ruffled his thick hair, their faces an inch away from each other. His face became all hot just a minute after being in contact with the cold snow. He looked intently at her lips that curved up into a smile as she lovingly swept his fringe away from his face.
He was sure he heard angels singing that moment and one of them landed in front of him, looking back at his mismatched eyes with a look that said ‘forever’. He leaned closer to her warmth that drew him in like magic. And as soon as their lips touched, fireworks lighted up the sky to the tune of merry Christmas carols.
“Merry Christmas Changmin oppa.” She beamed brighter than any of the fireworks that painted the Christmas night sky.
“Merry Christmas, Sooyoung.” He pulled her back into his arms. “Would you like another sleigh ride with me?” He smirked.
She raised an eyebrow at him but before she could answer, she found herself being carried away by him back to the top of the hill.
